SoftSlate Commerce 3.3.6 Released

SoftSlate is pleased to announce the release of the latest version of SoftSlate Commerce, version 3.3.6. This release includes improvements in the Advanced Search (Lucene) integration, a new integration with Google reCAPTCHA, an important security update for PayPal, plus other small improvements. Advanced Search Live Updates

Starting with version 3.3.6, Administrators using Advanced Search (Lucene) no longer have to reindex each time they make a change to a single product, category, content page, or manufacturer record. The system will automatically update the information for that particular record in the existing index. (Does not apply to Power Edit changes or imports.) A flag at the bottom each of those Details screens allows the Administrator to tell the system to update the search index or not, as the record is saved.

Google reCAPTCHA Integration

In version 3.3.6, we have added Google reCAPTCHA support, replacing the previous jCAPTCHA integration: http://www.screencast.com/t/9iGYLlUya. Admins can choose to add the CAPTCHA to the contact form, customer registration form, and/or payment forms, to protect those forms from spam submissions. For folks who are upgrading, jCAPTCHA will still be enabled, but switching to reCAPTCHA can easily be done in the Administrator under Security Settings -> Captcha Verification.

PayPal Security Updates

An important update to the PayPal integration is included in version 3.5.6. PayPal is disabling the older protocols of HTTPS 1.0, TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 and will soon be requiring stores to use the more modern TLS 1.2 to connect to its services. This upgrade includes support for TLS 1.2 to meet this requirement.
